Cross border
India to Canada trade exhibitions and missions.
Nessora runs cross-border exhibition programmes between India and Canada, covering pavilion space in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, temporary resident visa documentation, CFIA and customs routes, and pre-qualified Canadian buyers.
- Delegation size
- 10 to 50 exhibitors
- Lead time
- 6 to 10 months
- Sample route
- ATA Carnet, plus CFIA where applicable
- Both directions
- India ⇄ Canada

Both directions
We run this corridor each way.
India to Canada
For Indian exporters, export councils and state trade bodies reaching Canadian buyers.
- A smaller market than the US but a markedly easier first one: less crowded categories, buyers who will meet a new supplier, and a large Indian-origin population that has already built demand for the products.
- Canadian importers frequently serve both Canada and the northern US, so a Canadian distributor can be a route into North America without a US programme.
- Bilingual labelling for Quebec is a real cost and a real deadline, and it catches exporters who have planned only for English.
Canada to India
For Canadian brands and producers seeking Indian distribution, agents or channel partners.
- Canadian exporters to India are strongest in agri-commodities, education, clean technology and professional services, all of which are relationship-led rather than shelf-led.
- Provincial trade bodies often co-fund missions, which changes what a programme can afford and what it has to report.
- India's regional differences matter more than Canadian exporters usually expect at the planning stage.

Sectors with the strongest pull
Where Canadian demand is deepest
- Food & beverage
- IT & technology services
- Textiles & apparel
- Construction & the built environment
- Education & training
These are where we see the shortest route to a first order. They are not a restriction: the delegation and pavilion work is sector-agnostic, and what we test is whether a real buyer base exists for your category in Canada.
Also going the other way?
Delegations into India work from New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, on an Indian e-Business Visa or Business Visa.
The paperwork
Visas and customs for Canada.
Temporary Resident Visa, business visitor
Most Indian passport holders need a Temporary Resident Visa rather than an eTA, though delegates holding a valid US visa or a Canadian visa issued in the last ten years may qualify for the faster route. We check eligibility per delegate at the start, because it changes the timeline materially.
Samples, freight and customs
ATA Carnet is accepted. Food, plant and animal products fall under CFIA requirements, and Quebec's French-language labelling rules apply to consumer goods sold there. Both are settled during scoping rather than discovered at the border.
We are not immigration advisers or customs brokers. We prepare and coordinate the documentation, work with licensed brokers at both ends, and own the schedule, including enough slack for one thing to go wrong without the stand standing empty.
How it runs
Brief to report, one lead.
- 01
Brief
We take the objective before the format. What has to be true after this event that is not true now: a listing, a distributor, a launch date met, a room that renews next year.
- 02
Proposal
A written scope with a costed budget, a venue or show shortlist, a date-by-date plan and a clear statement of what sits with us and what stays with you.
- 03
Build
Contracting, design, production, permissions and paperwork. You get one project lead and a single schedule, not four suppliers with different versions of the truth.
- 04
Delivery
Our crew is on site from install to derig. Whatever happens on the day is ours to solve; you should be talking to guests, buyers and press.
- 05
Report
Numbers and outcomes against the original objective, plus the assets, the lead list and an honest note on what we would change next time.
Questions
India to Canada, answered.
Is Canada an easier first North American market than the USA?
Usually, yes. Categories are less crowded, buyers are more willing to meet an unknown supplier, and visa timelines are shorter than the B-1 waits that shape US programmes. Many Canadian importers also serve the northern United States, so a Canadian distributor can become a North American route without running a separate US programme first.
Do Indian exporters need French labelling for Canada?
For consumer products sold in Quebec, yes, and it is a firm requirement rather than a preference. Bilingual packaging has a cost and a lead time of its own, so it belongs in the budget at scoping. Products sold only outside Quebec have lighter obligations, but most distributors will want national-ready packaging.
Which Canadian trade shows suit an Indian delegation?
SIAL Canada is the principal food and drink route and alternates between Toronto and Montreal. Grocery & Specialty Food West covers the western provinces, and The Buildings Show in Toronto serves construction and the built environment. The right choice follows the category and, in Canada more than most markets, the region.
